What Can I Expect In A Session?
We will start with an in depth interview of your current health needs and health history. This is important for me to understand where you are, where you’ve been, and where you’d like to be in your health care goals. From there we can assess what treatments make the most sense for you. It could include acupuncture, cuppung, herbs, or some combination of treatment strategies.
Treatments
-
Acupuncture
Hair-thin needles are applied to the body. Acupuncture is beneficial for many ailments, including digestive issues, muscular skeletal pain, stress reduction, menstrual irregularity, and fertility.
Other modalities that may be included in an acupuncture treatment include body gua sha, moxibustion, electrical stimulation, and herbal medicine.
-
Facial Acupuncture
Tiny needles are applied at a shallow depth in the face and body. Facial acupuncture is beneficial for increasing elasticity, improving skin texture and tone, increasing collagen production, and decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. In a facial acupuncture treatment, we treat both the internal body and face, because whatever is happening internally will appear on the face as well.
-
Gua Sha
Facial gua sha is the application of a jade gua sha tool on the face to reduce puffiness by removing lymph and excess fluids from the face. It can help with puffiness, under eye bags, under eye darkness, fluid retention, muscular tension and TMJ. Facial gua sha may be included in a facial acupuncture treatment, if necessary.
Body gua sha can help to reduce muscle tension. Body gua sha may be included in an acupuncture treatment, if necessary.
-
LED Light Treatment
LED light treatment during the facial acupuncture session helps to build collagen, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and even skin tone.
-
CUpping
Cupping is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It helps to relax the nervous system and ease muscle tension.
-
herbal remedies
Herbal Remedies have a long tradition in Chinese Medicine. They have been used for fertility, women’s health, pain and digestive issues for hundreds of years.
Facial Acupuncture, before and after.
Facial acupuncture can be used for esthetic treatment or medical treatment (ie post-stroke paralysis, Bell’s palsy). These patients did weekly treatments for 10 weeks, once a week. Treatment included body and facial acupuncuncture, gua sha, and LED light.
Book a Session:
Initial Acupuncture Treatment
75 min
We will take an in-depth, holistic look at what is happening with your health, as it relates to both mind and body. This treatment includes body acupuncture, as well as other modalities such as cupping, body gua sha, or e-stim, if necessary. Herbal remedies may also be a component of treatment.
Returning Acupuncture Treatment
60 min
For returning patients who want to continue their health care goals. Acupuncture works best over time, sometimes multiples sessions are needed to fully address and shift a condition.
Returning Acupuncture Treatment
75 min
Sometimes we require a little more attention! This session is for patients who need some extra time on the table. For example, if we need to do body gua sha for tight muscles on the back of the body, but also want to address internal issues with needles on the front of the body (digestive, menstrual, etc). This give us plenty of time to address both issues without the pressure of time.
Facial Acupuncture and Gua Sha
75 min
Facial acupuncture includes both body acupuncture and facial acupuncture, as well as facial gua sha. Whatever issues are facing the body will show up in the face, and vice versa. We use high quality, organic, facial products from Myhavetorn of Sweden and Anfisa. Facial acupuncture can be used for both cosmetic and medical facial issues, such as Bell’s palsy or stroke rehabilitation. It is the only facial treatment that benefits both face and body.
